5 Minute Salsa

I LOVE salsa, and I’m not talking about the kind in a jar you can buy in the chip aisle at the grocery store. I mean fresh, chunky, spicy, salsa goodness. Moes’ is one of my favorite places to eat, just because I’m in love with all of theirs!

A few weekends ago we were at our friends and someone brought a homemade salsa so of course I had to find out how to make it. A bunch of people messaged me asking for the recipe so I want to share it here with y’all!

  • 1- 29oz can of whole tomatoes
  • 2- cans of rotel tomatoes with green chilies – original
  • 1/2 white onion
  • fresh cilantro
  • fresh garlic
  • salt & pepper to tasteimg_0522-1.jpg

This whole recipe should be made to taste.. for my whole and diced tomatoes I buy the ones with no salt added. I also double my recipe to use it for mine and Russell’s lunches all week, for my onion I use a whole medium or large onion, annnnndd because I’m italian and love garlic I use at least 3-4 cloves of it haha. But its ALL to taste, so start slowly with your added ingredients, and tweak it as you go to find what you like.

You can make this in a blender on pulse setting. I don’t have a blender, so I use my kitchen aid for everything, using my wire whisk attachment for this. It keeps my salsa nice and chunky, and stored in tupperware – it stays fresh! Rotel original has the perfect amount of kick to it, but if you want something more on the mild or hotter side check their other flavors for yours!
